Scam Alert: Facebook users see fake 'missing child' posts

These posts are scams

(SOUTHEAST INDIANA) – We all care deeply when a local child goes missing, and scammers prey on that emotion.

You might occasionally come across a Facebook post describing a dire situation of a ‘local child missing’ or their parents can't be located.

There has been a few circulating among ‘yard sale groups’ in Southeast Indiana that depicts a young child who appears to be injured.

It’s a scam. If you type the author of the post into Facebook you’ll find out that same child is also listed as missing in several other states.

There was another one last month that we covered by clicking here.

The scammers are prying on your emotions and the goal might be to hack your account.

If a local child or adult is in danger, we will always let you know and so will local law enforcement.
