Scammers pretend to be Dearborn County deputies

Sheriff's Office warning residents

(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – There is an ongoing scam where phone scammers are pretending to be Dearborn County deputies.

The scammers are using a fake caller ID that appears as the Dearborn County Dispatch which is (812) 537-3431.

People who receive a scam call are told they have a warrant and it can be taken care of by paying money.

“We do not conduct business this way, so please call the sheriffs office if you have any questions and do not send anyone any money,” the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office said.

Never give personal information or money over the phone.
