(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) -- A semi driver appeared to escape serious injury after crashing on U.S. 52 near Cedar Grove late Wednesday night.

The accident occurred around 10:45 p.m. and Franklin County deputies responded to a report of a rollover crash.

An 812 viewer lives nearby and tells us that she heard the crash happen.

"I heard something hit hard, then a very large bang, found out later it was the transformer for Cedar Grove, and the horn was stuck ‘on’ and blaring," she said.

The viewer called 9-1-1 and then went to help the driver.

"He was not cooperative with the police. He stated a couple of times that he was perfectly fine. I’m not sure how he made it out, it was a really bad accident," she said.

"I'm so glad the driver appeared to be okay," she added.

The accident closed the state highway as first responders cleared the scene.

"It was really bad I cannot believe he walked away, he had to be under the influence of something," the witness said.

People act confused and often combative after a head injury. Let the investigators determine if he was under the influence. Unfair to put that out there
