(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – The South Dearborn community is mourning the loss of one of their own.

Former Knights football player Bryce Valdez lost his life in a car crash in Lawrenceburg.

It happened around 1 a.m. in the area of Hollywood Boulevard and U.S. 50. Crash investigators say Valdez died after his vehicle flipped over the guardrail.

Valdez graduated from South Dearborn in 2021.

He was a 4-year letter recipient in football, All-EIAC his junior and senior year, and Most Valuable Defensive Lineman and Team Captain during his senior year.

“Bryce was a fierce competitor on the field, yet you could always catch him with a big smile off of it. He will be greatly missed,” said South Dearborn athletic director Ryan Walston.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and the Knights community.
