(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – South Decatur students and teachers gathered for a prayer vigil for a senior on Monday night.
Dylan Eaken was involved in an ATV accident over the weekend and was flown to a Cincinnati hospital.
He remains hospitalized with several broken ribs, a collapsed lung, a fractured hip and pelvis, and a broken femur.
“He is currently on a ventilator to allow his lungs to heal, but no surgery on his broken bones can be done until he's stronger,” his family said.
The school community came together on the afternoon of Memorial Day to share some prayers for the teenager.
“I think it is a testament of how good of a guy he is overall. He would be here if this was for someone else,” said South Decatur teacher Ashleigh Shouse.
The Cougars baseball team also stopped by to support their friend before they traveled to Osgood and played in the Sectional Championship, which the won for the first time since 1976.
