South Decatur remembers kindergarten student

Bennett passed on February 27, 2023

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – South Decatur Elementary honored the memory of 5-year-old Rylie Bennett on Tuesday. 

Bennett passed away from a two-year battle with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) on February 27, 2023. 

South Decatur faculty members wore the color pink to honor the kindergartner.  

The school is continuing work on a memorial which they hope to unveil in a few months.

“We can’t wait to share it with all of those that made a monetary donation, purchased books, our community, and especially her family,” the school said on Facebook.
