Among 30 best scores in Indiana
(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – New data shows that South Ripley has the highest ILEARN scores of all school districts in Southeastern Indiana.
The data was released last week by the Indiana Department of Education. The ILEARN is the statewide accountability assessment given to students in grades 3-8 each spring and includes both english and math tests.
Looking at the ELA results, 54 percent of South Ripley students passed this portion as compared to a state average of 41 percent. The school ranked 28th best in the state.
South Ripley also posted the highest county and local ranking on the math assessment with 62 percent of SR students passing the test compared to a state average of 41 percent.
“We are ecstatic over these outstanding results,” said South Ripley Superintendent Rob Moorhead. “Our students, teachers, administrators, staff and parents are to be commended for their efforts. These results reflect our commitment to the academic success of our students and are directly related to the tremendous work our teachers and staff do in our classrooms. It is gratifying to see our students reach the high expectations set by their teachers and to know that this is being accomplished in such a caring environment. It’s another great day to be a Raider!”
In individual grades, South Ripley third students had the 2nd best passing percentage on the math portion of all Indiana public school districts while South Ripley fourth graders posted the highest math passing percentage of all public school districts in the state.
