Award based on STEM programs
(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – South Ripley Elementary School has been named a Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Distinguished School.
The designation is given to schools who show a commitment to enhancing student access, engagement, and achievement in PLTW programs, an elementary STEM curriculum.
To qualify, South Ripley Elementary demonstrated a student participation rate exceeding 75
percent and offered at least one PLTW Launch module at every grade level during the 2023-24 academic year.
Principal Ryan Lauber said, "This recognition reaffirms our belief in the power of PLTW to shape our students' futures. By providing them with hands-on STEM experiences, we're not just preparing them for academic success but also equipping them with the skills and confidence they need to thrive in the modern World."
Research indicates that students form their perceptions of math and science as early as
elementary school. Through PLTW Launch, South Ripley Elementary students engage in
critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork while developing a passion for STEM subjects.
