St. Nicholas has raised $3.1M since December for Heritage Project

More funds still needed

(SUNMAN, Ind.) – St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Sunman is nearing its fundraising goal for the second phase of the Heritage Project.

The second phase focuses on the establishment of the Fellowship Center, which

will include a new gym, cafeteria, performing arts rooms, multi-purpose rooms and construction of the lower level of the preschool.

Father Shaun Whittington says the upgraded gymnasium will "provide sufficient space for our students for gym classes and various athletic teams while also serving as space for wedding receptions, parish festivals, or other large events. This area will also include new seating options to accommodate many different types of events."

Fundraising for the second phase began in December and has already reached 83 percent of the $3.8 million goal.

More than 250 families have chipped in to raise $3,150,000 in the past few months.

The project only needs about $700,000 to become a reality.

The first phase of the Heritage Project, which included new classrooms, a new office suite, technology upgrades, improved accessibility and new heating and cooling systems was completed in August of 2019.
