Happened Thursday afternoon
(VEVAY, Ind.) – Most people in Southeast Indiana didn’t see any rain on Thursday, but it was a different story in Vevay.
Switzerland County residents experienced thunderstorms and high winds that uprooted trees, caused home damage, downed power lines and scattered debris around Vevay.
As of 11 p.m. Thursday, there are approximately 260 Duke Energy customers still without power.
The cleanup will continue Friday as the Town of Vevay encourages community members to be patient and supportive.
“They will get as much brush as possible tomorrow, but their efforts will extend into next week,” town officials said. “We extend our gratitude to the volunteers and neighbors who are helping remove tree limbs and sweep sidewalks.”
