Competition also raises funds for girls who are bullied
(SUNMAN, Ind.) -- If you've been to the Railyard Bar and Grille in Sunman, there's a good chance you've met Samantha McBride.
She's the general manager of the restaurant and on any given night, you'll find her bartending, waitressing or working in the kitchen.
McBride was recently nominated by an anonymous customer for the inaugural 'Bar Boss' competition.
It's a nationwide contest where the winner will receive a $10K cash prize and also be featured on the cover of Bartender Magazine.
The competition also raises money for a nonprofit organization that brings awareness to the effects bullying has on girls.
For McBride to win, she needs community members to vote for her.
So far, the community has shown their support as McBride has advanced to 5th place in her group, but more help is needed.
Samantha is a Cincinnati native who moved to Sunman and says she is humbled by the support she's received so far.
"I never really got to experience things like this. And bartending for example, when it comes to a small town versus a big town, you see how many people actually care about you here," McBride told The 812.
"And you know, I've done a lot of stuff for our community, and it just feels like they're paying it back," she added.
You can vote for McBride up to twice per day by clicking this link here. The competition ends at 7 p.m. on January 4.
