Trees Mobile Home Park on Saturday
(SUNMAN, Ind.) – Community members came together for a fun-filled day at Trees Mobile Home Park in Sunman on Saturday.
It was the seventh annual community picnic and it featured a bounce house, kids games, pumpkins and lunch.
Lisa Taylor is the property manager at the mobile park and says this event began seven years as a way for neighbors to get to know each other
“No one ever thought of this place as a community and nobody knew each other. I just feel if we know each other it makes for a safer place,” Taylor said.
Taylor says her favorite part of the picnic is seeing the young kids enjoy the day together.
“I just love it. We have kids here that some our autistic and they don’t have an opportunity to be in touch with other kids their age in the community, and it just really warms my heart,” she told The 812.
One of the kids that enjoyed the event was third grader Addyson.
“It’s been really fun and I got to play with all my friends and get to eat a bunch,” Addyson said.
The community also hosts a community event year around Easter.
Trees Mobile Home Community has roughly 125 mobile home lots. Also on site are a single family home and a three unit apartment building which are rented.
