Used during search and rescue missions
(VEVAY, Ind.) – The Switzerland County Emergency Management Agency has a new tool that can help during search and recovery missions.
The EMA received a $7,500 grant from Duke Energy to purchase the underwater scanning system called AquaEye.
The AquaEye is used to help find victims who are in water during search and recovery missions.
“Using ultrasound and artificial intelligent technologies, AquaEye will scan open water areas up to 50 Meters. The display allows emergency responders to locate and respond to drowning victims,” Switzerland County EMA said.
It could be used during ice rescue events during winter weather also.
The AquaEye device will be used by the Water Rescue Team along with fire departments in Switzerland County.
