Shooting happened at home in St. Paul, police said
(ST. PAUL, Ind.) -- One teenager is recovering while another is facing charges following a shooting at a home in St. Paul last week.
Around 3 a.m. Friday, Decatur County dispatchers received a call that 18-year-old Chester William Smith, of Shelbyville, was being treated for a gunshot wound at Major Hospital.
Investigators say Smith was shot in the shoulder at a home in the 200 block of Washington Street in St. Paul.
18-year-old Damion Wayne Logsdon, of St. Paul, was allegedly holding the gun when it discharged, police said.
Logsdon was booked into the Decatur County Jail and charged with Criminal Recklessness and Possession of Alcoholic Beverages.
Smith was later transferred to an Indianapolis hospital for further treatment.
