HIstoric restaurant and inn located in Batesville
(BATESVILLE, Ind.) -- The Sherman in Batesville will reopen the Black Forest dining room beginning on Tuesday night.
The owners say it will feature an upscale dining menu suitable for all ages with choice dishes and weekend specials.
The room was part of the remodeling effort of the historic restaurant and inn that was first opened in 1852 and is now a Batesville landmark.
As part of the reopening, The Sherman announced the hiring of executive chef Shannon Brady of Lexington.
"Anyone in the restaurant and hospitality industry knows that the past several years have presented challenges including higher food, supplies, utilities, repairs and equipment prices as well as staffing shortages," Sherman owner Georg Heringer said. "It is therefore no small feat to open a restaurant that offers the menu Chef Brady has designed which is simultaneously delectable and reasonably priced."
Heringer added that he hopes the community supports the restaurant as it reopens.
The Sherman will offer incentives for midweek guests and encourages people to make reservations, but walk-ins are welcome.
They are taking reservations now and you can learn more by clicking here.
The hours of operation will be 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
