(OLDENBURG, Ind.) – Picture yourself driving down the scenic backroads of western Franklin County outside of Oldenburg.
Why waste time enjoying the peacefulness of farm country when you can just steal a tractor?
As crazy as it sounds, at least one idiot thought that was the perfect idea.
A local farmer had his tractor stolen this week and the suspects left some evidence behind.
“The sheriff’s department was here and located something left behind from whoever stole it. We’re collecting it now and sending it off to be analyzed,” the family said.
The tractor was in the barn hooked to a sprayer.
“The thief had a hard time backing it out and ripped all my harnesses as well as dropped evidence that the sheriff believes they’ll be able to get DNA and fingerprints,” they indeed.
This tractor could end up on Facebook Marketplace in the near future so be on the lookout.
“I have also contacted the area tractor salvage yards to be on the lookout for it,” they added.
If you know who stole it, I bet things will work out just fine, with no cop involvement, if it is delivered back to where it was found, soon.
Apparently there is enough evidence left behind that cops might even have fingerprints and DNA.
