Tuesday marks 7 years since two Delphi teens were murdered

Their alleged killer is awaiting trial

Abby and Libby were murdered in 2017

(DELPHI, Ind.) – While it didn’t happen in Southeast Indiana, it was a case that grabbed the hearts and minds of parents across our region.

Tuesday marks the seventh anniversary of the murders of 13-year-old Abigail Williams and 14-year-old Liberty German in Delphi, Indiana.

The teens were last seen on the Monon High Bridge on February 13, 2017.

Abby and Libby’s case went cold for several years until police announced a break in the case more than a year ago.

51-year-old Richard Allen was arrested and charged with murder and kidnapping in October 2022.

Allen is expected to go on trial in October of this year.

Liberty’s sister, Kelsi German, has become an advocate for victims of violent crime since the death of her sister.

She went on social media Tuesday night to say, “Thank you for all the love. You have no idea how much we appreciate you and all the support over the last 7 years. Couldn’t continue this journey without you all.”

Family members will host a food drive to honor the two teens at the Delphi Methodist Church this coming weekend.
