Two local men killed in U.S. 421 crash on Tuesday

Happened north of Versailles

(OSGOOD, Ind.) – Two young men from our area were killed in a crash involving a small dump truck and a semi on Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened around 2:40 p.m. on U.S. 421 between Osgood and Versailles.

The dump truck was driven by 24-year-old Nathan Vogelsang, of Dillsboro.

The passenger in the truck was 19-year-old Landen Comer, a Jac-Cen-Del graduate and resident of Osgood.

Investigators say the dump truck cross the centerline and struck a semi truck head-on.

Both Vogelsang and Comer were pronounced dead at the scene.

The semi was driven by a man from Illinois who sustained minor injuries.

Troopers do not believe alcohol or drugs played any role in the crash.

U.S. 421 was closed for nearly five hours during the investigation.
