Unique ‘Dirty Soda’ mobile truck is a hit in Batesville

A popular West Coast attraction comes to Batesville

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Two local families have created a unique business that is typically found on the west coast.

Fred Roberts, and his wife, Kari, lived out west for several years and found a love for shops that sell ‘Dirty Soda’ which is a combination of soda pop, creamers, and flavored syrups.

Fred mentioned the idea of starting a dirty soda pop business to his friend, Luke Adams, who recently moved to Batesville with his family from the Bay Area.

Luke admits he isn’t a big soda drinker and was on the fence about the business until he traveled to a dirty soda pop shop in Utah.

“The shop owner asked if she could make me a dirty soda. I initially said no, but she said would give it to me for free just to try,” Adams said.

“She mixed it up and as soon as I sipped it - my taste buds began to sing and dance like they never have before!”

That’s when Carbonation Station, the Batesville-based business, was born and

the dream became a reality!

The 812 stopped by their blue trailer and spoke with a customer who had just ordered one of their dirty sodas.

“I got a coconut flavored drink and it is really flavorful, and just looking at their menu is a lot of fun, with their unique concoctions and names,” Nikki Fox said.

The mobile business offers tons of different flavors and each menu item has a unique name.

Some of the names are: I-74, Potty Break, Country Road, Passenger Princess, No Place Like Home, and U-Turn.

They say their most popular drink so far has a name that resonates very much with us! The 812.

While you can choose from the full-service menu, they also allow customers to make up their own drink with their self-service menu. Many customers have already created names for their drinks that are on the ‘Under Construction’ menu. Come try the Road Rage, Lane Changer, Road Runner, and Rush Hour.

Their blue trailer is often seen around Batesville but is expanding. It was at a cross country invitational in Greensburg, Freudenfest, the Bulldog Chase and a handful of teacher appreciation days as school recently started back up again.

And you can always find where they will be set up by following them on Facebook and other social media platforms.

They are available for teacher appreciation days, private events, and would make a great addition to a party for kids or teens.

Editor’s Note: I tried one of their drinks and it is very worth giving a ‘dirty soda pop’ a try if you’ve never had one! We will certainly be back!
