Versailles church to host concert in honor of lifelong member

Her wish was to bring Mary Rice Hopkins to the area

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – St. Paul Lutheran Church of Olean will host a special performance in honor of a lifelong member of their church. 

70-year-old Phyllis Armbrecht passed away last September and had a passion for working with the children’s choir at the church. 

“Providing music ministry to the littlest members of the congregation brought her great joy. She introduced many children to the ministry of Mary Rice-Hopkins and helped organize concerts at the church,” her family said. 

It was Armbrecht’s wish to bring Mary Rice Hopkins to the area again to share her Christian music. 

To honor Armbrecht, the church is making that come true. 

The Phyllis Armbrecht Memorial Concert will feature Mary Rice Hopkins & Puppets With A Heart by Darcie Maze. 

It will take place at the Holdsworth Entertainment Pavilion at 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 24.
