Versailles holiday celebration set for December 2

"There’s no place like home for the holidays”

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) -- Main Street Versailles will host their "Home for the Holidays" event on Saturday, December 2.

The South Ripley Music Department will host their 1st annual “Holiday Hustle” 5K run/walk starting and ending at The Kevin Hensley Memorial Park, with awards at approximately 4:30 p.m. on the Holdsworth Entertainment Pavilion.

The Versailles Lion Club will have food available at their building on the square

starting at 5 p.m.

Home for the Holidays events will kick off at 6:00 pm with a light parade starting at Tyson Activity Center and winding thru town.

The Versailles Volunteer Fire Department will be transporting Santa and Mrs. Claus to The Kevin Hensley Park where they will light a custom made holiday tree made by Sturgeon Engineering.

"The Holdsworth Pavilion will be festively decorated by Forget me Knot Event Planning and Rentals for holiday story time as you wait to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus," organizers said.

There will also be trolley rides, a live nativity, s’more stations ,ornament-making, holiday cookie decorating, music by the Day sisters, a Paint and Sip with local artist Laura Smart.

Families can get a photo in front of a holiday backdrop painted by South Ripley Art students under the guidance of Mr. Gadberry.

"Ver-selfie stations around the square, a holiday market with local vendors, and a display of all Gingerbread House Contest entries," organizers added.
