Vevay police officer replaces kid's stolen bicycle

Updated: Jul 9

Bike was stolen, damaged

(VEVAY, Ind.) – A 7-year-old in Vevay had his bicycle stolen from his front yard last week.

The bike was later found but the seat, brakes and other parts of the bicycle were damaged.

It was an incident that Vevay Police Officer Cody Miller wanted to do something about on his own.

He decided he would replace the boy’s bike and asked five other people in the community if they would chip in.

Donations were received and the new bicycle is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday.

Some of the people who helped donate included Miller's wife, a local fire chief and others.
