Vigil tonight for South Dearborn alum killed in crash

Community invited to football field

(AURORA, Ind.) — The South Dearborn community will gather to remember and honor one of their own on Sunday night. 


21-year-old Bryce Valdez lost his life after a car crash on U.S. 50 and Hollywood Boulevard in Lawrenceburg this past week. 


Valdez graduated from South Dearborn in 2021 and was a standout football player for the Knights. 


Friends, teammates, and community members are invited to the vigil which will be held on the football field.


A lantern release will take place at 6 p.m. tonight. Attendees are asked to bring a lighter. 


A memorial service for Valdez will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday at Rullman Hunger Funeral Home in Aurora.
