One day contest could help Batesville High School win grant
(BATESVILLE, Ind.) — Batesville High School is a state finalist for a large Indiana Department of Education grant but the school needs community support to win Friday.
Community members are asked to vote online for the school between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. and the votes are only being accepted today.
If Batesville garners the most votes during that 12-hour time period the grant of $250,000 grant will be doubled to $500,000.
The only other schools competing for the award is the Linton-Stockton School Corporation
and Purdue Polytechnic High School.
The award is called Excellence in Next Level Educational Experiences and Opportunities and it recognizes an individual school or district that is transformative in its holistic approach to prepare students for their future, including a focus on literacy, STEM, and college and career readiness.
One vote per email address may be cast and questions may be directed to Superintendent Paul Ketcham at (812) 934-2194.
