(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – There is a new destination for cycling enthusiasts in Southeast Indiana.
A grand opening ceremony for the Batesville Pump Track was held on Saturday.
We spoke with bikers who traveled from as far away as Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Columbus, Indiana.
The event also featured food trucks, prizes and giveaways.
The pump track represents the second phase of the Batesville Skate Park and took about a year-and-a-half to bring it to reality.
Some organizers who have made it possible include Amy Carpenter, Jim Moorman, Stephanie Feller, Ben Peters and others.
Organizers also credited the City of Batesville for assisting with the development of the project.
On Saturday, professional BMX racer Carly Kane, of Guilford, was there for the grand opening. Learn about Carly and her Olympic aspirations by clicking here.
