Wrestling invitational honored beloved community member
(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) -- Community members in Brookville continue to honor Derik "Bub" Orschell.
Orschell was a Special Education teacher at Franklin County Schools and was heavily involved in youth athletics. He passed away from a cancer battle in June.
The Franklin County wrestling team found a way to honor Orschell by hosting a tournament in his name and honor on Saturday.
Just as Bub would've liked, the Wildcats steamrolled the competition going 5-0 to win the first annual Derik Orschell Memorial Invitational.
"Thank you to Derik’s wonderful family for coming out to support these fine athletes," a coach said. "Thank you to our AD Dustin Riley and Assistant AD Brad Stacy for the help."
The Wildcat wrestling program is now 14-0 on the season as they head into Christmas break.
