The Wreaths Across Ripley County program is reaching more veterans
(VERSAILLES, Ind.) -- Community members placed more than 4,300 wreaths on the graves of local veterans on Saturday.
This initiative is called Wreaths Across Ripley County and it honors those who passed away after serving in the U.S. military.
A ceremony was held at the Ripley County Courthouse before volunteers drove to local cemeteries to place wreaths on graves.
This year, veterans buried at cemeteries in Oldenburg, Hamburg and St. Mary's of the Rock were also honored.
The wreaths were delivered by Baylor Trucking which is one of only 13 companies that is part of the convoy from Maine to Washington, D.C.
