Young bicyclist struck by car in Greensburg

Happened Wednesday afternoon

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) –   A Greensburg boy was struck while riding his bike across a busy intersection on Wednesday afternoon. 


The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Lincoln Street and Washington Street. 


Police say the boy was struck by a vehicle driven by a 21-year-old Greensburg woman. 


The boy was stabilized at the scene and later transported to by Decatur County EMS to an Indianapolis-area hospital. 


A witness said the vehicle was on Washington Street and crossing Lincoln Street when the collision occurred. 


According to police, a witness said two boys were riding bikes and when they reached the crosswalk, and the first child did not stop. 


The other bicyclist was not hurt.
