Extensive search for Carson Hughes continues

At Versailles State Park

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) -- The search for 18-year-old Carson Hughes continues on Sunday afternoon.


Multiple agencies, non-profits and volunteers have been searching for the teenager for over 48 hours now.


There is a significant number of resources and equipment coming in and out of the park as part of the ongoing efforts. The park is currently still open; however, the primary search area is closed to the public.


DNR has registered over 500 people in the past 2 days that are volunteering to search the grounds.


The Versailles State Park Joint Unified Command is currently being led by the Indiana Conservation Officers and the Ripley County Sheriff's Office.


Agencies that are involved include

Ripley County EMA, Versailles Fire Friendship Fire, Delaware Fire, Batesville Fire & Rescue, Ripley County Communications, Ripley County Health Department, Ripley County EMS, Indiana State Police; Hamilton County Urban Search and Rescue (USAR), Buckeye Search and Rescue Dogs; EquuSearch, Midwest Chapter, and the Hamilton County Police Association Dive Team.
