South Dearborn grad to coach at Stanford

The Dillsboro native is leaving a Big Ten school

(STANFORD, CA.) -- Dillsboro native Katie Robinson has been named associate head coach for Stanford University's women's swimming program.


Robinson has previously served as Director of Women's Swimming and Diving at Northwestern University for the past three years.


The 2003 South Dearborn graduate also has coaching experience at notable programs including Virginia, Rutgers and Tulane.


Robinson won six individual state championships while swimming for South Dearborn. She also set a state record in the 100-yard butterfly during her sophomore, junior and senior years.


She was also the recipient of the IHSAA Mental Attitude Award in 2002-2003.
