Maxwell to be sworn in as District 43 Senator

Replaces State Sen. Chip Perfect

(INDIANAPOLIS) -- Randy Maxwell will be sworn in as a state senator on Thursday afternoon.



During the caucus, Maxwell garnered 56 votes, while candidates Sam Mortenson had 17 and Joe Volk had 7.


Sen. Perfect announced his retirement earlier this year and his final day in office was on Tuesday.


Maxwell will serve the remainder of Sen. Perfect's term which runs through 2026.


District 43 includes Dearborn, Jefferson, Ohio, Scott and Switzerland counties, and portions of Jennings County.


Maxwell will be sworn in at the Indiana Statehouse.
