Nixie’s in Brookville to reopen Friday

Located on Main Street

(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – A longtime diner in Brookville will reopen this week. 

Nixie’s Burgers first opened in 1939 and has had a few different owners over the years.

It’s been closed for the past four years after the previous owner, Steve “Smokey” Hounchell, passed away in 2020. 

Nixie’s is now owned by Kurt Grimmeissen who will reopen the restaurant on Friday, February 23. 

A grand opening ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. and the restaurant is located at 563 Main Street. 

The diner will serve burgers, ribeye sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, and other items. There is also a kid's menu.
