(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – Students at St. Michael Catholic School in Brookville are going above and beyond for a girl who goes to a different school.
12-year-old Gabby Miller is a sixth-grader at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Greensburg.
Over winter break, she was diagnosed with acute flaccid myelitis (AFM), a rare neurologic disease which affects the nervous system.
St. Michael’s held a fundraiser for Gabby and collected $1,100.
The students purchased nearly 1400 candy grams and donated money to have an out-of-uniform day.
Some staff members and student council members presented Gabby with a check during a basketball game at St. Mary’s School last week.
